The Best in Black Benefit Gala and Awards Ceremony, hosted annually by Manifest Magic Black Girl Cooperative, celebrates the achievements of those who uplift and empower the community, particularly in advancing the well-being of women and the Black community. This event provides a platform for distinguished leaders and influencers to connect and support local initiatives, including community workshops, events, and mental health support.
The Experience
Each year, the gala features a unique theme to encourage attendees to dress up and express their creativity for an extra layer of excitement. The evening promises a rich experience with entertainment, delicious food, cocktails, speakers, and the chance to win some great silent auction prizes! We recognize and celebrate achievements, and foster a sense of unity and purpose among attendees. Awards and Criteria
The awards recognize significant contributions to Political & Civic Engagement, Social Progress, Health & Wellness, Leadership, Community Support, Educational Advancement, Economic Empowerment, Cultural and Arts Advocacy, Positive Representation, and support for the Manifest Magic mission in advancing the well-being of women and the Black community. Honorees embody the values of leadership, innovation, community impact, and advancing the causes of equity and justice. Each nominee is judged on their own merit, ensuring that unique achievements are recognized without comparison to others.
The Awards Process
Nominations are submitted through a formal nomination form available at the link provided below. Nominations should include supporting information and/or documents such as letters of recommendation, examples of nominee’s work, and any relevant awards or recognitions. Each nominee is considered on their own merit. The awards are presented at the Best in Black Benefit Gala and Awards Ceremony.
